Hi Rose,
Sorry to hear about your toe. Telephones are an awful nuisance when they ring while you're in the bath/shower/toilet etc. Our phone is in the living room which is sort of like an office, and it can be very awkward if someone comes in while I'm sitting there dressed in nothing but a towel. I know someone who broke their toe, and they were given painkillers in order to keep them walking. Apparently they were told that not walking correctly does more damage than the original break (to the pelvis I think) but don't know if it's actually true. Anyway, their toe healed okay, but it took a while. Ally |

Why can't they make cigarettes and their packets biodegradable?

We're going direct by train from St Pancras for about £300 each return. The direct tickets are all sold out but I think you can still get tickets if you change in Paris - we've done this several times. And the tickets should be cheaper. The transfers to resort are then very short and cheap from the station. I find Raileurope better for buying tickets than Eurostar.

I've booked an apartment for 4, ski in gondola out, in a shoe-box in Courchevel 1550 for 1000 euros, accommodation only, Feb half-term.

I didn't actually vomit myself, although plenty of other people did. But I felt like I was dying. In fact, when I was hanging over the rail at the stern I thought how great it would be to fall overboard and bring an end to my misery.
I should think the English channel crossing is quicker than the Irish one - four hours if the fast cat isn't running. Ally |

Well,
I will be trying a different pair of skis every day in the ski camp in Tignes in October. It will be interesting to see if I can notice any difference. What I really want are the sort of skis that don't buck or rear and throw you off. Ally |
