A decent 2nd hand pair for around 50 quid has to be worth a go. Cost more to hire some.
8 weeks use isn't much when you consider that only takes you to around half a season for a rental pair.

I've bought 2nd hand pairs for my kids - at the ski club where they did a bit of racing the other kids were always pushing their parents for a new pair - I picked up some real bargains!
£70 for 2 pairs of SL11 atomics - lasted my kids a few seasons and were still good when they outgrew them.

I note in a previous post (own planks yay or nay) you give a load of advice including - don't buy 2nd hand.

I appreciate you've given a history of these skis you have for sale - for that reason would you say buying 2nd hand would be ok?

Is that what you call a trolley volley :)
Done it - good luck.

Well the Germans on the next table found it hilarious anyway.

Sorry Tony, I don't get it :?:

Why were you passing headgear around in a bar?

Ally
I didn't think you would.

We went into a lively apres bar and decided it would be a good idea to all wear our own headgear and then pass it round to the person to our left every 30 seconds, which caused some great amusement for all the Germans next door.
There were some funny moments, but on a serious note, here is an avid Lidder (Stewart Dowling) having a lightblub moment realising how much cooler he would look in a bobble:

I expect you had to be there...............

(I don't think you're a bully if you wear a helmet and I don't think you're an idiot if you don't - Personally I choose not to wear one)

Have you thought about asking the car hire company?

If we need to take skis short distance we put one of the back seats down - assuming you got a car with split seats you could do that with your board bag.
But you need to check which cars are offered to you I think.

Starting a thread on here shouldn't have to pass your imaginary standards before it's allowed to happen without you chipping in constantly. Do you realise that in this single thread alone you've probably deterred many less well known J2skiers from posting legitimate questions on this forum in case you deem them insignificant and behave like a complete penis?

It's bang out of order. Get you head out of your backside and go back to your bobble hats. Clearly in your world that's far more important than learning about piste conditions and hazards. Close the door on your way out.

Hear, hear. I think we need to decide if this is a place for Tony to headline his views, add unconstructive criticism, add rolling eyes smilies regularly below the posts of others or a place where everyone can discuss whatever interests them about skiing. The old saying 'If you've got nothing nice (or constructive) to say' really comes into its own on this thread.

I've moderated online forums myself and know that hounding people with mockery of their posts does put members off. With a little consideration things can be worded much better for all concerned. Banter has it's place, constant posting on a thread to put it down does not.

I will add my support to both the above.

I've watched the nicest people virtually hounded off the forum. Good on you having the guts to say it!
