I think it takes about an hour to get there, though, on the bus.
The local tourist board told me that for us to get there, from Folgarida, we'd have to get a bus to where the main bus goes from, in order to get to Passo Tonale. And coming back we'd miss the connection because the local bus back to Folgarida would have gone by the time the main bus had got back.

What a lovely old video! Thanks Dave, I really enjoyed watching that :)

I didn't see any pistes anywhere - didn't they have pistes in those days or was it just that they preferred ski-ing 'off-piste'?

And I loved the horse and sleigh at the end - instead of the free ski bus to get them back to their chalet!

They were amazingly good skiers, and so fit!

I'm surprised he was only 3 metres from the edge of the piste! The way they described him as ski-ing 'off-piste' I thought he was miles from the piste!

Let's hope he makes a full recovery.
