Tino,
I don't get this. Do you mean you have been up 21 lifts already? Ally |

OMG Mattyc,
How could you even THINK of ski-ing down something like that? It makes me quite sick just LOOKING at it  I think I shall stick to green runs in future :D Ally |

Nelly,
Thanks very much for your kind offer but I've already bought another one, second hand (10 minutes ago) from abe books for a total of £9-61 in case I couldn't find my old one. And in any case, a friend of mine wanted a copy as well so if my old one turns up the new one won't be wasted. Is your book by somebody Ingham as well? I'd be lost without my exercise book, and £10 doesn't seem much compared to paying a couple of thousand quid for the two of us to go on our ski-ing holiday. Ally |

Nelly,
That was my idea as well - posting what little exercise I'd done on here so that I'd have to do it. Today I jogged 1/4 mile twice, so I have actually jogged 1/2 mile, but in two sessions. I can't find my 'fit to ski' exercise book so I'm a bit stuck now, although I can remember quite a few of the exercises. Snowb4ndit, Don't over do it now with the weight lifting in the pub - start with 1/2 pints before you move on to full ones  Ally |

SWskier - lovely photos, thanks.
Pablo, We had rain as well. I hope you don't live in a high flood area. This was our weather last Friday night. One of our friends got caught in a flood and her car filled up with water and she had to be rescued by the fire brigade, and her car is now a write-off. I was faced by flood water in my car, so I went another way around. And yesterday we had Force 10 winds. http://www.westerntelegraph.co.uk/news/4739138.Pembrokeshire_flooding__Fire_Brigade_get_more_than_140_calls_for_help/ Ally |

Hi Snowb4ndit,
I'm glad you had a good time, didn't fall over, and, most importantly, your son's girlfriend is a new ski-ing addict :D. Ally |

Thanks Tino,
I'm glad I'm not the only one who pushes themselves, and falls over. Well done for taming your shrew of a board, Ally |

Thanks Dave Mac,
I know that somewhere in the back of my mind I am still a little bit afraid of turning, in case I fall and break my shoulder again, especially on black slopes (like in that video). I am sure that there's still a bit of me thinking of it like reaching and tacking, in a boat (traversing and turning), whereas I know perfectly well that it should be a smooth continous process where you finish a turn only to start the next one (unless you're traversing to the nearest cafe of course!). It's surprising how early habits stay with one. Even now, years after I gave up sailing, I still feel like I'm coming round to pick up a buoy when I'm parking my car in the supermarket. And I know you've done masses of ski-ing, and I've done very little, but I have been very busy working on the farm and bringing up 2 children. Ally |
