Is that just for the coach? What about the apartment?

Snowb4ndit,
You're lucky you can go by coach. I get sick after more than about an hour. It sounds like a very good way to save money,

Swskier,
I like Val Thorens. I think it's great. We've been there twice now, 2 years running. The ski-ing area is vast, and there's a large number of runs to come down to get back to the resort - not like those places where everyone ends up coming down the same blue run at the end of the day.

Have a great time :D

If anyone wants to go and have a look at the Hari Kiri (from a safe distance preferably), Inghams have a cheap holiday to Mayrhofen over Christmas, if you don't mind staying in a 2 star B&B snow house - £312-50 each for the week, for 2 people flying from Gatwick on the 19th December.

And, I don't 'get' this percent and degree of slope business. Presumably 100% slope means totally vertical, but what is it in degrees - 180 degrees?

Edit - Had another look - vertical is 90 degrees?

Thanks Pablo,
For answering my question. As you know, I can't stand it when I don't know the answer to something. And I really didn't know that Honours degrees in Scotland generally take 4 years - does that make a Scottish degree better than an English or Welsh one, or does it make A Levels better than Scottish Highers or whatever you call them? - I hope this doesn't count as Wibbling - I don't want my children sold into slavery by Admin

Pablo,
How come you've still got this year left and then another 2 to go? I thought all Bachelor degrees were 3 years long, unless you had a year out in industry or somewhere? I thought you were in Uni last year?
If you then get a couple of years in which to go ski-ing, I will die of jealousy

Tony,
Unfortunately I am 'stuck' with ski-ing Feb half-term until my younger daughter leaves school (just under 2 years time). She can't miss school time during the term, and Christmas we have family and holidaymaker obligations, as is also the case with Easter. When she was younger we used to go the first week of Jan after the kids go back to school, and it was about half-price then, but now her school work is too important to her future career for her to miss anything.

At least we have proved now that we can also ski at Oct half-term, on a glacier.

Dave Mac,
Those skis sound like a real bargain.
