Ally - not surprised you get the odd miserable holidaymaker. There are bad apples on all walks of life.

I can top it though! We owned a couple of terraced houses about 12 years ago and let them on a shorthold tenancy basis. The rent was not paid on time for one of them and when I visited the property I found the front door unlocked, muddy footprints throughout the house, the slate surround fireplace missing (yes the whole fireplace!) and a huge machete type knife on top of one of the kitchen cupboards.

We sold the house shortly thereafter and got out of the rental business.....

I always look to see if accommodation is listed on trip advisor. It can be very useful although you do need to read a good number of the comments to get a proper feel.
I have a 21st C telly but only freeview/freesat. We watch films but very little TV other than the news, sport and maybe 1 or 2 programmes like Grand Designs.

If I could just buy a sports channel and nothing else then I'd consider it but I doubt that'll ever be an option.

Watched World War Z last night. Full on zombie fest that one.

Some of the long shots looked like the queues we experienced in La Plagne in March 2011....
I have a very very similar skiing diet......ever so slightly augmented by extra coffee, chocolate bars, chips and red wine. Otherwise it is identical.

:D
