Type the route into raileurope.co.uk and see what it says for a Saturday: Train leaves Turin (Torino porta nuova) at 12-40 Train arrives Chambery Challes 15-39 Train leaves Chambery Challes 16-25 Train arrives Moutiers 18-02 Total cost for a single ticket = £63-50 Then get a bus (Altibus)to wherever you want to go in the 3 valleys - Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Courchevel etc. - about half an hour - 3/4 hour on the bus - cost about 20 euros return. Stewart, I think you need to have quicktime installed to get the clown thing to work. It worked okay for me, but I got a message about MIME (whatever that is) and QuickTime. Ally |

I am wondering if it is so expensive because they have quoted her for a global pass for two people, so they can travel in France and Switzerland, and they still haven't worked out the details or the cost of the individual tickets. They will, however, have to book the TGV trains, so they need to get tickets now in case they run out, or only the expensive ones are left.

That's an enormous increase in price :shock:
I mean, they didn't use to charge anything for ski carriage. I will continue hiring skis and boots - for around £100 each time for top class ones, as long as I book them well ahead of time, on the internet. Ally |
