Warren Miller's Dynasty ski and snowboard film will be touring more than 40 towns around the UK from late October 2009 to mid January 2010. Filmed in striking high definition Dynasty highlights the old, the new and the unknown…the steep, the deep and the unthinkable.
Join legendary athlete Chris Anthony as he treks into China's interior on a search for the birthplace of skiing; follow mountaineering marvel Chris Davenport to Norway's highest peaks; reunite with the pride of the Midwestern skiing community, Luke and Adam Schrab, as they turn Michigan's Timber Ridge into the X-Games – redneck style; and catch a rare glimpse of historic clips from Warren Miller Entertainment's vault of vintage footage as it celebrates 60 years of filmmaking. Once again hosted and narrated by Olympic Gold Medal winner Jonny Moseley, this year's film is accompanied by a soundtrack including music from Incubus, Silversun Pickups and Band of Horses.
The UK tour of Warren Miller's Dynasty is supported by Columbia Sportswear, Nissan, The Independent, Lovefilm, Rossignol, Ski Club of Great Britain, Ski Lake Tahoe and Virgin Holidays and will criss-cross the UK and nine other countries worldwide as a limited release. Hi Rose and welcome to J2Ski - have you been here before?
Since you've been gone, since you've been gone... oh no, hang on... we've been attacked by Chinese show sellers, Bulgarian chancers and a dog! 120 newcomers have signed up (say hello) and 100,000 visitors have passed through... And it snowed. Apart from that, same old, same old... :D |

Is there anywhere that has Green/Beginner Slopes with Cable car access?

Hmmm, be careful - some "cable cars" traverse the most enormous drops that you really can't ignore...
... smaller gondola (or bubble) type lifts are quite common though; they carry anything from 6 to 12 skiers and will have numerous cars on each lift. Generally (though NOT always) they travel over shallower inclines and closer to the ground. So, examples? One suitable lift might be the gondola up to Beauregard from La Clusaz; smaller cars as above and relatively gentle. The Beauregard plateau is a super beginner's area too; good views, easy runs that rarely have more than a handful of people on them and often sunny. The La Balme area (La Clusaz) also has a long green served by a drag lift that's at the bottom of some more challenging runs to entertain the others if you're going in a mixed group. The "eggs" (Jandri) at Les Deux Alpes might be ok too - they take you up to a wide area of easy runs that have a few drag lifts (there are lots of chairs too so you'll need to plan your routes there).
