But if I understand correctly, the test case is not about going 'off-piste'. It is even about being a "Host" on-piste.

So if somebody goes out with a group (friends, uni students, met down the pub, met on a website  ); and that person decides where the group goes, then to my mind they are doing exactly the same as a "Host".

It's a mine field!

Yes, this is my understanding too. If you are notionally, leading/organising/showing around a group in a resort on piste, they'd like you banned. Unless you are a qualified ski instructor, then the ESF will turn up with a Gendarme and try to have you arrested for teaching illegally.

The French authorities would really like you to hire a French ski instructor, or a French Mountain Guide to point out the piste markers, lifts, and where the free toilets are on the hill

I feel a middle digit twitching......

We will have to practice our "I am Spartacus" routine to protect AllyG when she is reading the piste map for us when we go to Tignes then

Probably all get locked up as a result tho

Footage of Ally being arrested & carted off the piste by the gendarmes could be worth a fair bit on the open market & could cover the groups trip costs, so think carefully before adopting the "I am Ally" routine

Glad to hear that Andy has offered to be the group cameraman Although I may still be required if he turns out to be too much of a gentleman in the edit dept  Ally has offered her services for sourcing food & drink & waitressing the later, & am pleased to say the group have accepted her offer

As for food & drink, a no brainer for me as I will drink & eat anything, simples :)

If you are registered as a resident abroad as I am in the canaries in Spain you will have to get your country's equivalent EHIC, as I am a state pensioner I now get my EHIC from the uk.People that move to Spain do not get state health care unless they are registered self employed @ € 250 per month or working with contract & lastly be a registered state pensioner, of course you can get private cover & likely it will not cover preconditions.

I would expect other EEA countries to be similar which causes the immigrant population to head for the UK where you are entitled to free health care if looking for work, have work or not intending to work & your family is covered as well

I've never been on a holiday with anyone who hasn't paid so don't know if it would affect having a good time or not. But I did find that very funny ally!!!

The thing is, Tony, I've never organized a group holiday before, but I have been letting holiday cottages for about 15 years through an agency, and I know very well that it can be difficult to persuade people to pay the balance of their holiday by the required date, which was 12 weeks ahead in this case.

So I am very pleased that everyone in the group paid their balance to Bonjour ahead of time! I didn't have to nag anyone 8) :D
