Well, that's it for this season.

Currently in Zermatt. Despite the high temperatures, the pistes are holding up really well. We've generally stayed up above 2,500m for the first two days. Came down to the base at the end of yesterday and it was very slushy. I can safely report that it is nice and cool at 3,800m! Blue skies, quiet pistes - doesn't get much better.
Excellent write up!

We've skied there 3 times and thoroughly enjoyed our visits.
You should have done a backflip, slopestyle, right over the top of them... :D

It does seem to be quite commonplace sadly....

Val Thorens, Les Menuires or Arcs 1950?
Started by User in France, 8 Replies
I've had a week in Arc 1950 and whilst it was enjoyable I don't think I would go back. The skiing is good but the village itself was strangely lifeless. It was busy immediately after the end of skiing from say 4.30 to 6pm but quiet after that. Probably because most of the accommodation is self catered. Didn't rate Arcs 2000 at all which is a short chair lift away.

Queueing was generally ok although the lift just above 1950 was often very busy and the cable car up to Aiguille Rouge horribly busy (with 30 minute waiting time). We skied there 2nd week in March 3 years ago.
Zermatt and Cervinia ski pass

Too late!! We've already bought the international pass. It was only approx £40 more though. We're looking forward to getting over to Cervinia for at least one day.
Skiing in Norway

Have a look at my topics on Hemsedal in the Scandinavian sub forum. We've skied there 3 times. I think this is the largest resort and probably the one with the greatest vertical. None of the resorts are large though.

Norway has had a lot of snow this winter and I suspect skiing conditions will be excellent. It's certainly a lot warmer in March rather than January!

looking good. :D

We're staying in Hotel Schonegg which apparently is a 3 minute walk to the Sunnegga lift. i think we are near to Flexrent who we might use for ski hire. They will let you leave boots and skis with them overnight which I like the sound of ( we've done that previously in Val d'Isere).
