Where is the best place to keep boots and skis (bearing in mind the kids are not good at carrying their own stuff) - hotel, ski shop or are there lockers at funicular?
Cheers.

Thanks guys - great info :)

Not looking forward to the flat bits as my skating technique is not good. :(

The quaintness sounds lovely, the kids have only skied in Bulgaria and Andorra which are not known for this (neither any of the places I've been to in France for that matter). Altho' the bell sellers in Bulgaria do have a charm of their own!

Hopefully the forecasts of snow are correct and those of rain aren't!

Rich S - have a good trip. :)

Thanks to everyone so far! :)
We've pre-booked lessons which I believe are 10-12 and 2-4...
Will this give us time to visit Going etc on our own?
Is it worth having the kids supervised for some lunchtime periods - does this mean they (or we) can go further afield with the lessons?
Cheers.

Yes - Crystal! Used them last year for a Chalet Hotel holiday in Soldeu, Andorra and everything was fine.

Has anybody got any views, advice or info on this resort - or are you going there?

Staying in Alpenhof on 31 Jan with OH and 2 kids (9 & 12)- we've got 8 years experience but neither of us are very confident, the kids have got 3 years.

Any info gratefully received - please don't let it all be negative!!!

Thanks,
Zoe.
Took our two girls to Pamporovo, Bulgaria 4 seasons ago (6 & 9 at time).
We stayed in Malina Chalets which were basic but fun for the girls - the food at the hotel was reasonable even for veggies and the food on the mountian was lovely!. Ski lessons were not good - there was no grading so beginners were with quite experienced skiers and you had stay together and eat where the instructor took you. The children had to go to kindergarten and had minimal/no ski lessons. We paid for private lessons in the end for the kids which were excellent (when the instructor turned up).

We wouldn't go back to Bulgaria as a main ski holiday but would recommend Andorra for a budget ski holiday.
Went to La Massana/Pal the year when there was no snow anywhere and altho' not much to ski the instructors were very good. Last year was Soldeu which prides itself on native-English speaking instructors - again very good. Mountain food slightly better in Soldeu.

Trying Ellmau in Austria this year!
