We had some snow last night - but not much, about 1 cm. Enough so I had to scrape the car off, drive through slush and got wheel spin going up one of our very steep hills, where there was a bit more snow.
Maybe I should buy some snow chains :?: Ally |

Are you planning on driving or going on the train?
In case you're going on the train, here is a list of ski resorts easy to get to by train. They assume you're going from London but you can also go from Paris (which should be much cheaper!). Just click on 'France' under the list of European ski resorts easy to get to by train - not the tab to the left: http://www.raileurope.co.uk/default.aspx?tabid=2379 Ally |

Thank you Nelly :D
If you can confine all the snow to the ski resorts that will be great  Ally |

They seem to have sold now for £80 and £48. That seems pretty cheap to me. I hope you are okay with those prices Rossyhead.

Emma,
I had a look just now and they're currently at £23-55 and £29-55. Rossyhead - the on piste skis might have done me okay, but I can't face the thought of taking them all the way to France from here on the train, as well as my new boots and all the rest of my holiday gear, so I will continue to rent my skis. And I asked my daughter and she said they weren't 'girly' enough for her! I hope you sell them for a good price, both sets look like great skis :D Ally |

I'm glad we don't have our dairy cows anymore, when I think about the snow.
Christmas 1981 I think it was, we were snowed in for about 3 weeks and the milk tanker couldn't get to us so we had to give away all the milk to the village, which was also snowed in. And all the water troughs were frozen over so we had to keep smashing them, we had to light a fire to get the water running to milk the cows, we couldn't get the cows out of the fields because the gates were about 3 foot deep in snow - until we dug them out, we had to drag corn and hay 2 miles over the snow on a car bonnet to get it to the cows. And then the electricity and water went off. At the end, they had to bring helicopters in to drop food to some of the villages. Boy - I was fit at the end. I had to walk 8 miles each day over the snow and slog my guts out all day. And we lost a huge amount of money. I love the snow when I'm on a ski-ing holiday, but I really, really hate to see it here. Emma,
I didn't know it damaged skis either, taking them off like that. I'm sure I've seen ski instructors doing it, and my daughter always does it in our group ski lessons and no-one's told her off yet (or made her stand on the naughty step). I use a ski stick myself, but it's just because I find that easier. Ian - do you think it could be moths, or perhaps you've been welding wearing your sallos? The cheap sallos I got from TKMax for £30 seem to be fine. I can't see the point of spending loads of money on them. Ally |

I liked Amanda. I miss her
And as for the gloves, even though the brown ones are cheap I thought the Barts range looked pretty good, especially the decorative helmet covers  http://www.twoseasons.co.uk/mall/departmentpage.cfm/TwoSeasons/_121805/2/Barts http://www.white-stone.co.uk/brand/11/Barts Ally |
