For starters - the following link has a comparison of some areas:

Nice one - good bargain.

It just goes to show. Your new skis are probably much better than a pair of rentals, and you'll probably end up paying less than renting for a week.
Hi, I have experience of neither. They are likely to be very similar since they are owned by the same company. (an Aussie I think)

There was a lot of talk about Kicking Horse, but mostly negative and relating to the lift system. There seems to be room for improvement on that score, although the skiing got good reviews.

Depends if you like the gondola right to the top of the Alpine )

In seriousness. You have to remember that Kicking Horse has a lift system designed to be as efficient as possible for a young and growing resort. Hence the current approach of the gondola all the way to the top. Once you get there, there's another chairlift that allows you to do some laps in the alpine (Stairway to heaven). The problem at the moment is that you cannot lap the realy good terrain, both sides of CPR ridge, Fuze bowl, Bowl Over etc... without returning to the base of the gondola. The recently relaunched master-plan includes provisions to enable this more easily and also a sequence of chairs that allow access to the top of the mountain as an alternative to the Gondola.

It also includes plans to open up a significant additional area called Rudi's bowl, to skiers right, lookers left of Bowl Over.

Kicking Horse has great and very easily accessible terrain now and is well worth checking out. (So good, I'm off there on Friday)

If you liked Taynton Bowl you will love what KH has to offer.
I love the C9. They were my first pair of Skis :D

Out of interest how much did you get them for?

Go for oone that is comfortable and has removable inserts or adjustable heat vents.

Also try to get one that makes you look like an imperial storm trooper.
A cool story
