I didnt go on the Scare Chair.
There was plenty to around ADH without going on it. With only 4 days skiing and such great conditions I completely bottled it!!! |

I am not going to talk about the journey or the problems enroute to ADH.
I am going to say that it was the most fantastic 4 days skiing I have ever had. Powder Powder Powder. Lost my powder cherry and I loved it. Need some more and I am getting withdrawal symptons Good job it is only 7 weeks till we get on the slopes again. Pictures to follow later. Apologies to the people I tried to arrange to meet beforehand and didnt. |

Well today has arrived.
I am up far too early for the journey ahead but at the moment (fingers crossed, legs crossed, praying) LGW is open and things are running to schedule. Slight downside is that Grenoble is currently closed but is planned to open. I checked Low Cost Airlines and their flights are on time in and out of Grenoble (Sorry Sami) so that gives me some confidence. Anyway, up and away we go and cant wait to get in resort. Hope to meet some people there and good luck and safe travels to all travelling out this weekend. |

I have a suggestion.....
Due to the unforseen force majure situation facing may of the excited skiers flying out tomorrow we should go to the pub and celebrate tomorrow evening... All agreed? Good. |

I am afraid it is a case of wait and see but it doesnt look good for tomorrow. Call Ryanair and clarify what the procedure is if the airport remains closed. Will they divert to another airport or cancel the flight? I guess that depends on whether the airport is open whilst in transit or not. |

Sami
Before you do all of this, make sure you have checked with Ryanair first. You dont want to waste all that money and then realise that there were no problems. If you have a problem, then check the weather at various airports and see where you can fly from. That would be my advice. If the flight is diverted then the airline is responsible to get you to the designated airport at least. |

AllyG, I understand what you are staying I just dont like the fact that I am being told I am wrong when I have just stated what I read.
I am no expert and dont pretend to be unlike others. If you actually look at the one of the ADH websites at the Avalanche Risk, yes it does state 3/5 rating. At the same time however, many of the areas are lower than this and some are higher so I guess they are reporting averages for the area. If someone was stupid enough to endanger themselves and others because "it was reported on J2ski that the risk was only 2/5" then they should be locked up and have the key thrown away as they would considered under English Law as an ongoing danger to society. Anyway, rant over and it is not aimed at you Ally. Onwards and upwards to the top of the mountain without a care in the world and let the skis glide me down to the bar for a beer!!!!    |
