I've booked Crystal's improver package for my two kids for when we go to Scheffau (part of Skiwelt area like Soll). It works out about £30 a head cheaper than buying it all seperately. The beginner package should come with a commensurate saving. Hope this helps.

Alagna served by state-of-the-art cable-car. Gressoney by two older, but efficient two-man chair-lifts. No Geno, you are not over-selling it. Tied with St. Anton as the best place I've ever been to!

Do it!!! :). Italian pisties are magicians and the guys on the Sella Ronda are the best of the best. Barring an asteroid strike or thermonuclear meltdown at the Earth's core they will make this snow last till next New year!

In ski resorts there is a fairly universal rule of thumb that you pay for the convenience of staying up on the mountain to eat and drink. Ski down to the valley to save a few euros (I know it mounts up over the week), or stay high and be prepared to have your cap nailed on. The reality is that the on the mountain establishments have higher overheads so have to charge the punter more. Fair enough, but some seem to take the p!$$
I skied Tignes/Vd'I two weeks ago and, due to the weather and the earliness of the season the mountain restaurants weren't open so I can't compare prices. In Val, I paid 8€ for a ham and cheese baguette with a bottle of Perrier: a bit steep but not worth fretting about. In Tignes the prices were very reasonable. I can particularly recommend Le Dahu (bottom of Tufs lift) in Val Claret. The formule skieur three course lunch was great value at 14€! Pepe 2000 (just across the road) was nice too. I would suggest you try your luck in the restaurants in the village in Vd'I and, if they seem expensive, then you could make the short hop over to Val Claret and try Le Dahu. Not very French, but for burgers Aspen (<100m from the bottom of the Bollin/Fresse lift) is excellent.Have a good one  . |

I'm partial to the Aperol spritz in the summertime but when it's cold bombardinos are 'the dog's'. Forst or Goesser when it's beer o' clock :) . I could tell you about how a certain barmaid prepared Jaegerbombs in the Krazy Kangaruh but this is a family forum and 'little gaz' is getting all excited just thinking about it!!! -)
