Yes, well I'm very sorry everyone but I've been away ski-ing for 2 weeks plus doing other stuff.

Here's what's left on the list at the moment. If anyone else wants to go on it I will do my best to pay more attention to it and update it as usual! :)

Dobby going to Are in 4 days on the 14/02/2016
Michelle63 going to Pila in 4 days on the 14/02/2016

Oldboarder's photo of his son Jack, who was easy to recognize with the green mohican feathers on top of his helmet. They've both improved loads in the last couple of years and I went down the Sarenne piste with them, which is exremely long and mogully and they were ahead of me the whole way!

It's very well hidden, which is why it was generally just us plus a few piste patrollers having lunch there!
It's in the maze of green runs somewhere to the right of the snowpark as you look at the piste map. I'm not entirely sure but I think it might be on the Lac blanc piste.
We just remembered to go left at the top of the DMC and the Jeux lifts as we were coming down from above, follow the signs for the Berger area, and then turn right.
The Italian ski instructor working for the Ski Club of GB, called Didier, told Billip1 where it was on Monday so that we could go there for lunch. It's a brilliant sunbathing spot with marvellous views, good food, and it's cheap. BUT it does have a compostable toilet, so if you're fussy about such things you need to go somewhere else ...
It was a good place to meet up with those having morning ski lessons, and we took our Friday off-piste instructor there for lunch with us.
There's a promotional video about it on Youtube:

Here's a photo! Some of us stuffing ourselves at lunchtime at Le Spot, situated in the middle of the green pistes above Alpe d'Huez. Photo by Oldboarder's son Jack. Benneta is the newcomer sitting on the left. The guy in the middle is Bald-Eagleman.

Well, I'm quite sure my room mate came in at 04-30 because I woke up and looked at the time and told her she'd have to get up for her morning ski lesson in 2 1/2 hours!

I was most impressed that she managed it :)

However, I'm fairly sure she spent the afternoon snoozing on the sofa in the hotel lounge bar ... ;)
Hi everyone,
I had a great week ski-ing with the group, and my only criticisms would be that the place was too crowded and that one day the snow turned to rain in the afternoon so that most of us got soaked and had to come in early!

But we did manage to find some quieter slopes (over the Scare Chair side) and a lunch Spot in the middle of the green runs maze, with practically no-one there except ourselves where we could eat and sunbathe in deckchairs with a lovely view of the mountains :)

A few of us booked with the British Ski club's new arrangements, where their reps have been replaced by fully qualified ski instructors (Italians as a matter of interest in our case) who took us down some difficult slopes and even off-piste on the last day. I fell over more times on the last day than during the entire preceding 2 weeks, and managed to ski down something so steep off-piste it nearly made me sick to look at, but dodged out of the final off-piste detour as I was too tired by then and apparently it was even steeper and more difficult than what we'd done already! The off-piste snow was frozen and icy on top but powdery underneath, sort of like cake icing, and I found it most confusing trying to ski on it.

Still looking at this site though, can't ditch the habit.
Merry Christmas. Must get to bed!

Oh dear, Dids, I hope all goes well for you, and you'll be ski-ing again soon.
