Matt - you just need to use the link to the individual image.

Photobox don't seem to make it easy... but in most browsers you should be able to right-click over the picture and "Copy Image URL" to get the link. Then jut paste that into an Img tag, like this :-

Largest ever national snowsports participation campaign

GO SKI GO BOARD aims to get more people into skiing and snowboarding

The largest ever national snowsports participation campaign, GO SKI GO BOARD, has launched, aiming to get more people into (and back into) snowsports just five months ahead of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

The new campaign is being run by national governing body Snowsport England and supported by the Tirol Tourist Board as exclusive destination partner. It has brought together a network of the UK's indoor and artificial snow slopes to offer value for money taster, beginner, improver and recreational sessions for people whose imagination has been captured by our skiing and snowboarding stars. Participating slopes will offer programmes at four levels as part of the GO SKI GO BOARD campaign; TRY SKIING or BOARDING, GET SKIING or BOARDING, GO SKI or BOARD and JUST SKI or BOARD.

TRY SKIING or BOARDING is aimed at getting new people into snowsports through a taster session with a qualified instructor. For beginners who know they have caught the bug, GET SKIING or BOARDING offers six hours of instruction to help build a solid foundation of fundamental skills. For those who can already ski or board, GO SKI or BOARD offers development sessions with instructors to help refine technique and for people who simply want to ski or board with a group of people, there is the recreational social JUST SKI or BOARD sessions.

Costs of all the courses will vary between slopes, but will offer value for money and will be all inclusive with no hidden costs. Typically the costs of GO SKI GO BOARD sessions will include instruction, slope time andequipment . Apart from the TRY SKIING or BOARDING taster session, all courses are 6 hours of tuition generally over 6 weeks.

CEO of Snowsport England, Tim Fawke, said of the campaign:
"With Sochi 2014 on the horizon and a continued buzz around the country after London 2012, we believe there has never been a better time to engage people into snowsports than now. Skiing and snowboarding are two of the most exhilarating sports around and we hope by offering value for money, all inclusive sessions as part of GO SKI GO BOARD we can give more people the chance to give the sports a go – whether it is their first time or they are trying them again after several years."

The GO SKI GO BOARD website, www.goskigoboard.org.uk, will offer information about all the courses and group offers available as part of GO SKI GO BOARD and people can search for their nearest course using the "Find My Nearest" search. When contacting slopes about booking courses interested participants should specifically mention the GO SKI GO BOARD programme. GO SKI GO BOARD has its own Facebook page – www.facebook.com/goskigoboard and can be found on Twitter by searching #goskigoboard.

For people who have a small group of friends who want to learn to ski or board, instead of having to fit into the existing GO SKI GO BOARD course dates, they can become a Snowsport Maker and will be able to book suitable times and sessions with participating slopes and get a course at a great price. This is part of the GO SKI GO BOARD Snowsport Makers programme, encouraging people to get groups together to give skiing or boarding a go - www.goskigoboard.org.uk/snowsportmaker

That video shows it off well - it's not skiing as we know it (Jim), and it has some limitations as Swingbeep points out. For pre-season training, stretching the right muscles and addressing a range of technique issues it looks very effective. Being able to watch yourself skiing, with the aid of an instructor, is likely to be useful for most of us!

The kids seem to love it (!) so if you've got one nearby then why wouldn't you?

I think the catch is that you have to go to the show...

But seriously, if you're likely to visit one of the resorts on offer then it's a great offer and will save you some beer tokens.
It must be nearly winter... our Inbox is filling up with PR at the moment! First out of the bag is this from our friends at Snow Camp...

The Snow-Camp Alpine Challenge is back!

If you and/or your colleagues, friends and family fancy the challenge of skiing or snowboarding a total of 150km over 2 days in the French Alps, including a night mountain hike – then the Alpine Challenge is for you! 2 non-stop days, 15 resorts, 150km of GPS tracked skiing or boarding, 15 team checkpoints to be reached, plus the night mountain hike and huge party finish!

It's a proper Endurance Challenge but also a fantastic experience and great fun - and all in aid of Snow-Camp's work supporting disadvantaged inner-city young people. Snow-Camp's target this year is to get 20 teams each with 4 riders to participate in the Challenge. They are expecting the event to sell out so please grab some snowsports friends or colleagues and get involved!

To give you a taste of what it's all about, here's a video from last year...

The Full Alpine Challenge Package includes all flights, transfers, hotel accommodation in Morzine, ski passes, night hike guides, GPS equipment, team bibs, meals, medals and trophies and the support of the Snow-Camp staff team. For each team of 4 people there is a £1,000 registration fee (£250 per person) and each team then commits to raise a minimum of £5,000 or £1,250 per team member. (If you require superior accommodation the registration fee is £1,400 per team (£350 per person).

The Challenge poster is attached and all details on how to register are live on the events dedicated webpage: www.snow-camp.org.uk/alpinechallenge.

For more details or to register your team today, contact Dan at Snow-Camp on dan.k@snow-camp.org.uk or call 01273 241383.

The PR people say...

Mountains reign supreme in British Columbia, and in the winter, they're coated in snow.

As a consequence there is terrific skiing and snowboarding resorts throughout the province as well as backcountry skiing opportunities in national and provincial parks.

Whistler Blackcomb is one of the top-rated ski resorts in North America and was the host mountain resort of the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games but for some of the world's best powder and heli-skiing head to the Kootenay Rockies region.

Both cat-skiing and heli-skiing were pioneered here, and if a Revelstoke Heli Skiing or Revelstoke Cat Skiing adventure isn't on your bucket list, then it should be. With untouched powder fields, classic lines, peaks, glaciers, pillows, alpine bowls, and old growth forests at your ski tips, the rest of the world is far, far away.

One of the local heli-ski operators claims that Revelstoke offers the best skiing on the planet, and that may not be an exaggeration.

A huge amount of Kootenay Rockies terrain that is accessible by helicopter and snowcat, combined with massive winter snowfall, places Revelstoke in a class of its own for heli-skiing and cat-skiing. With tenure over their own vast areas of powder covered slopes, guides are able to share an intimate knowledge of their particular piece of this awesome landscape. Boarders are welcome too.

There are a number of heli-skiing and cat-skiing outfits based in and near Revelstoke (each offering various packages): CMH Heli-Skiing, Mica Heliskiing, Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing, Eagle Pass Heliskiing, K3 Cat Ski, Revelstoke Cat Skiing, and Mustang Powder.
Any more jokes like that and you'll find your username switched to Dave McWarren...

Back in the burrow? Ha! It's nearly winter!
