Good idea - especially if it will help Brooksy to find a room mate :D

If anyone else is interested in going on this holiday with us, would you please either post a message up on here or send me a pm. The basic description of the holiday is on the first page of this thread, and at the moment we still have several spare rooms in the chalet.

Thanks,

Ally
Hi Brooksy, welcome to the group :D

I am quite sure we will all get along fine together on this holiday. I am a pretty easy-going kind of person, and like you said I have made many friends just because we have been in the same place at the same time.

I made friends with my 'best friend' at school at the age of 5 simply because our names came after each other in the register. And I am still very close friends with her now. Likewise, when I went to uni I made friends with the girl in the next room in our uni Hall, and we shared a house together for the following 2 years.

I could go on ...

I am a very sociable person and I make friends easily, although I am not a party animal. So I will be the sensible person when we're out and everyone else has drunk too much - the one who remembers which chalet we're in and how to find the door etc....

So, as Brooksy says, we are looking for a suitable room mate for him, for this holiday. I have allocated him room 6, which is an en-suite twin with a balcony on the first floor.
What a good idea Andy

We will have to arrange a special time so that everyone knows when to look at the webcam (and remember about the time difference).

Possibly not too early though, in case some of the group decide to visit the Underground bar during the evening and find it rather difficult to get up the next morning

My younger daughter was in Tignes before Christmas with her uni and she says they specially went to Les Brevieres to visit that bar in the evening. Apparently they do very cheap drinks, have live music, and it's a great place. She says they had at least 20 different flavours they added to the vodkas - only I don't know quite how reliable her memory is regarding this
This link shows all the separate resort areas of Tignes and Val d'Isere, and if you click on one area it will expand it:

I should think there very likely will be some rain in the villages, but hopefully not up on the mountain, especially if you go up high.

When we were in Meribel, in January, it started to rain for a moment when we were ski-ing, but luckily it changed back to snow :D
Yes, but just think how big the chalet must be!

I should think my whole village would fit in it

The website http://www.bensbus.co.uk/geneva_transfers/index.php shows where their bus stop is in the village, and gives more of an idea of the whole size of Les Brevieres:

The advice I've seen is to bring masses of high factor suncream (for when it's sunny), and re-waterproof your ski gear (for when it's raining!).

I'm sure you'll have a great time :D

Have fun Nellie and Snapzzz and whoever else is going off on holiday :D
Maybe I should start doing summer lists as well - I can never remember anything for more than about 2 minutes.
