Hope you all have a fantastic day, wherever you are, skiing or not.

For those in the mountains; enjoy, make it magical and stay safe!

...and for those on the "J2Ski Injured List" (which seems to be growing at the moment!) ... a speedy recovery!

...and for everyone else... a speedy recovery (from tomorrow's hangovers).

Have a great holiday all!

Dave

(I think I can hear hooves upon rooftops, so better check the levels on Santa's brandy glass... seems to have inexplicably required refilling several times already).

And for anyone interested in such things... the weather station in Poole Harbour has just registered gusts of Force 12. Hurricane Force. A tad windy then...

The QE2 Bridge at Dartford is now closed until tomorrow, due to strong winds. Expect delays.

Southbound traffic is being diverted to use the east bore of the Dartford Tunnel. Northbound traffic is using the west bore.

Motorists can expect delays at the crossing and people should also be aware that the A12 Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach is closed southbound due to emergency roadworks being carried out by Transport for London. This means some drivers are choosing to use the Dartford Crossing as an alternative.

You're probably already aware, but if you're heading for the UK South Coast today - for ferries or Eurotunnel - be prepared for some disruption.

Here at J2Ski Towers, on the occasionally sunny Dorset coast, meteorological conditions can be best described with the technical term "absolutely blowing its **** off".

(currently gusting up to Force 10, and forecast to increase!)

Portsmouth Ferries are affected, Dover / Calais hasn't yet got the worst of the weather.

Keep an eye on the forecasts....

Saas Fee Forecast and Snow Forecast for Grindelwald

Currently a heap of snow lined up for Xmas Day onward but BE CAREFUL - it's falling on an unstable base and the avalanche risk will be through the roof in places.

If you're thinking about leaving the piste then keep an eye on the Swiss Avalanche bulletin here - http://www.slf.ch/lawinenbulletin/schneedecke_wetter/index_EN

Wednesday
Snowfall is anticipated across widespread areas, especially heavy in the Valais, on the southern flank of the Alps and in Grisons in particular. The snowfall level will drop from initially about 1500 m down to low lying areas. The avalanche danger is expected to increase noticeably, above all in the major areas of precipitation.

...and take local advice. The combination of heavy snow, a (very) weakly bonded layer and lots of people...

Yes, here at J2Ski Towers we've been scratching our heads over that one... something lost in translation but as soon as we find out what they mean we'll fix our reporting!
