Hi Hugh,
I've been to both Obergurgl and Courchevel and I would think the hotels are about equally expensive, but Obergurgl is nowhere near as nice as Courchevel (in my opinion). Couldn't you find a cheaper hotel in Courchevel, or go self-catering (if you agreed to do all the housework for the week)? I think the problem is that you picked a top hotel in a top resort during one of the peak weeks of the year, so it was bound to be extremely expensive (over £1300 per head - I checked) |

Icy,
I expect Felthorpe is trying to resist wibbling - it seems to be highly infectious  Felthorpe, We already have a couple of Italian suggestions. The Milky Way, which is a 400km ski area including Sauze d'Ouix where I first learned to ski at the age of 8. Sella Ronda - which I believe is a route around the Dolomites, including Arabba etc. And for Switzerland we have Zermatt as a suggestion. But, like you, I don't know much about Italy or Switzerland  And nobody has suggested any more resorts/ski areas for a while, so maybe everyone thinks we have enough choices already? |

Icy,
Nelly is a PA - don't you remember I was going to ask her to be our PA in our Wibble Kingdom? So all those accountants can't do anything without Nelly. She is a Very Important Person  And she's really keen on coming ski-ing with us on a J2Ski group holiday :D |

Some people simply can't make certain dates, because of things like closing dates for submitting tax returns etc. |

Snapzzz,
What a cute dog :D No wonder your daughter would rather have one of those than an ipod. Has she thought about though - I mean she'd be the one who had to clear up the mess every time it *** on the floor, go and look for it every time it ran off, and she'd have to take it for a walk when it was raining, and I bet she'd never be able to afford all the vets bills out of her pocket money. Plus, if it turned out to be like some of the dogs I've known, no-one would ever be able to find their underwear, slippers, newspapers etc. etc. any more because the dog would have run off with them  |

Icy,
If you keep wibbling all over this thread I doubt we'll ever get a date for this holiday   |

Snapzzz,
What happened to February? And are those Saturdays or Sundays? Seriously though, are you suggesting we rotate the holiday month each year? The trouble with that idea is that we might have different customers each year and we might find that we are supposed to be having fish on Friday (ski-ing in March) and most of the people interested in that particular holiday want to go in February. It's not an easy problem to solve in a fair and democratic way. We have something like 17 people on my list now who are interested in this 2014 holiday, which is the same number of people who completed the survey for 2013. So we could do a vote for the date now, but most people seem to be in favour of waiting several months longer, so that other interested J2Skiers can help with picking the date. And once we've got the date we can start deciding on where to go. |

Tony,
I agree with Felthorpe. If we go to the same place every year it would get a bit boring. And, as someone else said, if we go on the same date every year it would mean that certain people would miss out every year (like Nelly if we always went in January), unless we did 2 trips per year and that seems a bit ambitious at the moment  |
