There are no chairs linking La Rosiere and La Thuile except on the way from La Thuile to La Rosiere. you take 2 chairs TO La Rosiere but on the way back you HAVE to either take a long 2-3 km button back to red 7 or two buttons to get back to the top gondola station....unless of course they have built new chairlifts in the last 3 weeks

Why use Easyjet or Ryanair is carrying Skies etc. Swiss Air and Brit Airways carry your skies for free (ish). Return for me LHR to Geneva rtn £167 over half term including 23kgs, skies etc and 8kg hand baggage. Loads for a week ....or two -)

As I am sure Tony H and a few others will concur Serre Che is a top resort. Its ski area although not vast by 3 valleys standards is all interlinked for 250kms across the 4 main villages. Free Ski buses transit the route about every 15 mins if you get tired and want an early bath!! Serre really has everything, several greens, excellent and challenging blues, proper reds and even Off pisted but posted blacks. Apres is good and cheaper than a lot of France and the locals are friendly. Try La Grotte or The Frog. Monetier has outdoor sauna/spa/pools thingies for a change and there is sufficient good off piste to satisfy most. Never stayed in Briancon but several rate it. I think the Station Bar, brit owned is in Briancon?
