Easter short break

Done lots of Easter trips to Chamonix. Probably the easiest drive from the Channel ports, definitely got the height -) , bars galore, 1000's of apartments to rent, huge choice of slopes facing in all directions.
New to France....where to go?

Flaine Montsoleil might fit your needs. Newer French resort developments tend to have bedrooms, and less bunks. It's also a bit closer to the Channel ports, so a shorter drive.

Snapzzz has recently demonstrated how to save money by buying your own Lift Tickets, and not relying on the T.O to give you a competitive price in your package

Starts about 6 weeks after the European race season begins, and finishes about a month before the racers pack up

It will probably be on TV for January and most of Feb!
Thanks AllyG, I wasn't considering attending any of this company's events, but was more interested in their charges and slope priorities. I tend to stick with one performance coach and their system to avoid confusion.

However my hot tip if I was to holiday in Niederau would be to hire a car (usually the same price as the transfer from the airport) and then the available skiing is limitless. I regularly ski the Ski welt which is 5km away and Austria largest ski area (279km piste) Kitzbühl, Alpbach which as mentioned is now link into Niederau, Mayrhofen 40 minutes away and in Summer go up to the Glacier in Hintertux to ski (1hr 15 mins away.)

Welcome to J2ski :D Niederau has it's fans on here, and it's possible to stir up some serious emotion. Your post tells J2skiers about the value of not skiing Niederau, but skiing in other resorts. So my question is, why should skiers not just go and stay in those places anyway?

The Ski Club of GB currently have a deal with a ski school called insideoutskiing.com at The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead, so that I can do my first technique course with them for only £49, after a 50% discount.

The day course consists of three 90 minute coaching sessions with video analysis, breaks for tea and lunch, and free recreational ski-ing afterwards. The whole day is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. And hire of skis and boots is included in the price.

So, the street price is around £100 for 4.5 hours tuition on a group basis?

Do you buy your slope pass on top of that? What day of the week is this running, will you get priority on the lifts?

I also disagree with Brucie. Our 1st winter DIY trip was in 1992, and have gone the DIY route every winter since. We were unhappy with being treated like cattle, and always being in a queue. We also wanted to make our own packages, with the savings that brings. We have been package tourists since, when skiing in the USA. The experiences served to reinforce our views.
