Unquestionably a good effort, and fortunately he survived...

Nah, looks rubbish doesn't it? All those trees! Pah.

That's no way to talk about andyhull, but nice of you to include him in your will anyway...

Andy(hull) - presumably the tree-covered terrain is pretty safe (avy-wise with all that snow), but how much of the mountain does that make up? Do you mind telling us some of the costs involved, and if you lost any time to jet-lag, etc.?

Dave Mac - you were doing so well until the end... "come to Niederau - the hospitals are great!"

...that said, Niederau is one of those "small and friendly" villages that's probably ideal for someone looking to regain a bit of confidence. Not too much risk of being mown down by nutters (as long as you keep an eye out for "Mad Mac")...

p.s. that was definitely my line Dave...

The fact that the Swiss are cutting their prices, and are widely publicising that fact, implies that they don't share your confidence (that people will keep coming). 8)

I'm not alone in expecting this winter to be a tough one for the Swiss ski industry.

You can see where he lands the jump from the top of the chair, there's a track from an earlier run.

Love the roll before the rail ride at the end; and having had many an end-of-the-day coffee/beer on that balcony (undisturbed by airborne skiers!), that's not a small gap/drop he's jumping before turning switch to slide into the gondola!
Perfectly doable from GVA - Monterosa (well, Champoluc) is under 3 hours drive via the Mont Blanc tunnel, Gressoney probably about the same but Alagna's a little further I think.

The only thing to watch out for (AFAICR) is the queues out of the resorts and down the valley to the autoroute on a Sunday night (lots of people come up from Turin and Milan); we only just made our plane!

I posted it here a couple of weeks ago... 8)

Last Easter in La Clusaz we watched M.Thovex and some of his mates making another movie - also posted on here :- Blue Skies and Aerobatics.

...it is most certainly  when you see how fast and high the jumps and back-flips are.

Well spotted! An extra zero in there... I've fixed that while our News Editor is off enjoying himself up some mountain somewhere... hopefully with the right number of zeroes in his altitude! 8)
