I don't happen to want ski hosting either, though I have used it in Austria and can see why people enjoy it.
But I am actually enjoying this debate and discussion and applaud Ally for voicing her opinions.
Nowt wrong with that.

This argument is going in circles and is basically not even an argument but a repeated on 26 pages complaint that sounds like "Why can't we do as we wish?" and then the same thing follows, for 26 pages now.

Of which you have also been engaged -)

Tony you're playing the player again & not the post IMO.

I don't think Ally is leading anyone on this thread & is only stating her views as are the others who are disappointed at the hosting being removed.

Clearly Ally & others find hosting a pleasurable part of their ski trip & for some on their own more so, the fact that you & I don't shouldn't lead to ridicule.

With regards to her toe, she had skied moguls which resulted in her toe going Black & painful, when diagnosed it was found to be broken. This info was posted on here at the time & you may not have seen it, so why do you consider she needed to blame on something else?

Lastly I can tell you that we are not not looking at going to France for the 2014 trip as Italy is the favoured choice & decided before the hosting debacle.
Last minute bargains?

So are you suggesting its only British that require ski hosting ?

So can anyone recommend a wax, spray or otherwise that you can apply yourself while on piste to liven them up, this will be used only between professional servicing.

Well that's the whole point isn't it, hosts are not instructors or guides.

I don't see why a host needs any qualifications as they just ski with you on piste & show you round the area, does that mean if you have your own independent group no one person can lead.

No money is required to be paid to a host so they are not working on the Black & putting others out of work.

It does however look as if the ESF are creating a type of job description that will have to be paid for & appears to be hosting by another name.

Agree Ally the hosting on the first day was a shambles & not a good introduction to hosting, after lunch I came up from the loo & still had to pay for lunch & everybody had gone.I caught up with 2 of the group luckily as I didn't know where we were resort wise, even more luck that one of the 2 was knowledgeable about the whole area & I was fortunate to ski with him & a small group for the rest of the week.
