Glad you got sorted. I liked the look of those too. Have fun road-testing them next week. :-)

I think someone has previously suggested a nice campsite in the Corvara/Colfosco area in a thread about camping in the Dolomites. Right, that's the French, Austrian and Italian legs of the 'European Tour' sorted.... :)

About ten years ago we stayed at La Locanda ,which I think, is on the same street as your apartments. It has a restaurant which is open to non-residents and we thought it was fantastic. It is decorated in the style of a 'Wild West' saloon but the food is typically Italian. Pizzas through to steaks. The wine list was pretty impressive too. I'm normally a 'beer monster' on ski holidays but I did make an exception here to sample the Amarone and Ripassa. Nice.
I hesitated before posting this as I noticed it had received 'mixed' reviews on Google, but when I looked on TripAdvisor, the reviews were more in keeping with our experience. We found 'Gracchi' (Graziano) and his team to be perfect hosts. He works like a trooper in the kitchen and the place does get really busy (I take that as a good sign). However, the service was always polite. Also a great selection of digestivi with which to 'cleanse the palate' -) at the end of the meal. Skiing is good for early intermediates but you might get bored if you like to clock up the miles. Some good apres at the bottom of the pistes on both sides of the valley. |

Yes. They were a pretty well-known brand. They went 'belly-up' and I believe SD have bought the brand-name. They do that with lots of other brands that have hit the rocks, like No Fear and Karrimor to name but two.
