I don't know about other resorts, but Tignes has an avalanche training zone, by the lake, which apparently (according to the piste map) has 8 beacons buried permanently under the snow so that people can practise their search technique using avalanche transceivers.

I would think you'd have to have a guide to find these routes - because they're not marked are they?

Let's hope they're all OK!

I am planning on ski-ing the Sache in January, which is in the same area, but not an itinerary route. If they mean a 'naturide' run then these are supposed to be avalanche controlled (as per the Espace Killy piste map).

Looking at the piste map I can see an area marked 'vallon de la Sache' but there are no pistes or naturides or anything else marked on it apart from the black Sache piste.

I've added you to the list, currently on page 230, but it's yesterday's list so you've actually got one less sleep than it says (if you see what I mean!).

I will post the list back up tomorrow and then Excel will automatically calculate how many days everyone has left, so you will be correct again because you're now on the Excel sheet :)
