Ever seen skis being loaded (thrown) onto a trailer at the airport? It's enough to make you wince.
Take my advice and invest in a hardcase for them.

Yeh, I watched my soft bag with more than 2 grands worth of kit being vaulted from the cart on to the carousel at Chambery, I nearly cried.

You can get a holiday by train on Eurostar for less than that. I went to VT via train with Inghams over Xmas, and it cost less than that for the whole week travel, accommodation and lessons!Ian Wickham wrote:tino_11 wrote:Well said Nelly!

 :(
Wow.. Rail Europe quotes the Calais to Annecy return fare as just £91.00 or £129.00 return on the least flexible options out of St Pancras.

Two extra days skiing too.

You can only get 2 extra days by going on the train, now, if you can stick two nights without any sleep (or you can sleep sitting up). They discontinued the RailEurope overnight Snowtrain from London, and the Eurostar one doesn't have any beds.
We're going out on the day train, and back on the night train, for this very reason. So we're going to get 7 days ski-ing, instead of 6.
