Hi again,

You should be able to get a shared private transfer from around £280 , you could try BensBus , I used them just before Christmas ( usually hire a car but thought I would let someone else do the driving for a change ) they charge £73 p/p return from Geneva.

The only thing what I never liked at the airport transfers is that you always have to be on time and if you have to travel a little bit more, no way you can stop and visit anything.
I was just looking at a few sites like europcar.com , sixt.com , victoriacars.com , herz.com and in all of them is cheaper to hire in France and the diference is huge. Can anybody tell me why?

Hi ,

I agree you do have more freedom with a hired car as opposed to a scheduled transfer, I always hire with Autoeurope and have found them to be excellent , they only go from the French side at Geneva , but 6 -7 days hire for an economy diesel ( Opel Astra , Peugeot 207 etc ) ranges from as little as £80 and have never paid more than about £180 + fuel , which for me driving from Geneva to Bourg-St-Maurice and back with a weeks tootling around the mountains during my trip the fuel costs about £35 - £45 on average...so not too bad.
