Ski Club of Great Britain appoints new General Manager

Iainm posted 06:53

The Ski Club of Great Britain has appointed Katy Ellis as its new General Manager, following the departure of James Gambrill, who has led the organisation since 2021.

Ellis was formerly Head of Holidays at the club, and has overseen the growth of the Ski Club's Freshtracks holiday programme since 2022, as well as holding senior roles within the organisation over the past 20 years.

Founded in 1903 at London's Café Royal, the not-for-profit organisation has played a significant role in the development of both British and international snowsports for more than 120 years.

The club has more than 12,000 members, many of whom join the club's resort reps based across 23 destinations in the Alps and North America.

Katy Ellis said:
"It's an honour to lead the Ski Club at such an exciting time for the organisation. We continue to see strong growth in our Freshtracks holidays programme in over 60 ski resorts. We have lots of exciting plans for the future and I'm looking forward to building on the strong position the club is in today."

Angus Maciver, Chairman of the Ski Club of Great Britain, said:
"As James Gambrill steps down after five years leading the organisation, we are delighted to see the club in such a strong position. Katy's appointment is both a natural progression and an exciting step forward."

The Ski Club has a number of activities planned for members over the summer, including 'Ski with Chemmy' events featuring the club's ambassador Chemmy Alcott, alongside a series of member meet-ups.

James Gambrill is returning to a full-time role with Mountain Trade Network (MTN) and the Snow Show London ahead of its 2026 event on October 17–18.
