I have to disagree Ian. Stance is irrelevant - you can slit your sallos easily when picking up or carrying your skis, and my boot clips seem to do any quality sallos a fair bit of damage.
I do agree that for £20 you probably haven't got the best ones in the world, but I don't think the quality of material can be the issue here if its holes.

Stance is relevant as you are less likely to catch the boot area on sharp turn, and how on earth can
you damage your sallo's taking off your skis or picking them up, the only way I can see that happening is if you detach the binding by using the base of your other ski, I spend too much time preparing my bases to do that. So I don't really know where you are coming from on this one ??

 I do that - use one ski to take the other one off. It's the only thing I can do that my OH can't though so I'm not stopping 8)
I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain

The best pair of ski trousers (not salopettes as they didn't have the Farmer Giles bib) I ever had were made by SOS. Lasted really well, superbly made, sad when I outgrew them!

Now I have a pair of trousers from Columbia for very. very cold weather and a lighter pair made by Rossignol. Both are excellent, neither cost me more than £75 within the last 18 months or so.

Yeah I've found Columbia a good make. Hammered mine, sliding down slopes on my backside and everything. They're still good as new.
