Oh I talk to people all the time. I do have to say though, the Canadians and Americans were quite inclusive, maybe there was an appreciation that you were a distant visitor to their country. Many times, just chatting away on the lift, then you get invited to ski with them, join their friends.
One guy in Whistler invited me to go "noodling" with him, ie skiing through the trees. "Whatever you do Dave, don't stop behind the trees, thats where the bears sleep!"
A bloke in Breckenridge told me that 20 years ago, he had bought a small piece of Woodland on the edge of the town, builthimself a log cabin, and spent his summer, making wooden furniture to sell, to finance his winter. What a lifestyle.
I met Finn on the Gondola~ now then, he can talk! Good skier though!
