Well it has been a while since I posted. Last season was great, made it up 18 times :D and my first trip wasn't till January. This year is looking better already, the season opened up 2-4 weeks earlier than normal. I went skiing last Sat & Sun and am doing the same this weekend  I am hoping to make it up at least 25-30 times this year. I have seasons pass at White Pass http://skiwhitepass.com/ only cost $329 when I bought it early. Last year was my first time back skiing in about 15 years, I am loving the new style skis. I use to ski a lot, then I got married and had kids etc.....

Just wanted to say hi again and share how much I am enjoying skiing again.

Brad
You ski at the same place as a couple, Ken and Linda, who my wife and I met on holiday in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland last February. They're both instructors in their spare time, teaching disadvantaged children from north of the Seattle area. I remember that Ken said that they ski the whole season at White Pass. They are in their late 40s, I think. He's a tall well built guy, she's a small blonde lady. If you bump into them, tell them Cheryl and Dixie from Liverpool have now both cracked it and become reasonably competent skiers (which will amaze them), having spent a lot of time during the summer on a indoor real snow slope in the UK!
Sadly, its probably not a place we'll ever get to, but from what Ken told me it sounds like real fun.

I remember when you arrived on this forum last year Brad. Looks like you will have overtaken a lot of regulars on here already with just last season, and you will be an expert by the end of this season.
Good for you, wish I had a mountain to ski on where I live.

Thanks,

Just checked with my boss/ski pal. We are going to White Pass Saturday. Sunday we are going to Mt Hood, haven't been there in 32 years :-o We get 5 free days there with our WP seasons pass. Mt Hoods top lift is 11,000 ft! they are actually open 350 days a year (only closed for 2 week maintenance). It is a bit farther than WP, in Oregon, but we have to go down there for business on Mon/Tue/Wed so we figured we would combine the trip. We should finish our business, back in Washington, early Wed, about 1 hour on the other side of WP, So we should be able to get at least a half day in at WP that day  Then the next day is "Thanksgiving" with a 4 day weekend, will probably ski 2 or 3 of those days. If you could see me, I am dancing around my room :D Here's an approximation:

Well.....

I am a little less enthusiastic about the next week of skiing :( I was skiing slow caught a groove as I was coming up to a stop, bit it, and managed to wrench my right knee fairly bad. I can ski on it but I have to take it VERY easy and it hurts whenever I move it wrong. It wouldn't be such a big deal if I wasn't going to a mountain I haven't been to since I was 10 :( tomorrow. I am really upset about it. I hope it feels better tomorrow but I am thinking this isn't going to heal completely for 2-4 weeks.
