Info please on Revelstoke, Fernie and Silver Star

[b]We have locked in some accom for the first part of Jan 2010 (a house swap in big White). Now we're tossing up where to go for the second part of January. I'd love some help from some locals. Choices are:

1. We have been offered a house exchange in the town of Vernon (with their car) but don't know if driving each day to Silver Star from the town would be too hard...with 3 kids.

2. We have been offered a house exchange in Whistler, but in the suburbs. Same again - don't know whether it would be a hassle transporting kids around Whistler suburbs and also the transporting from Big White. (Too much moving around? And I've skiied in Whistler before).

3. My husband is keen on Revelstoke or fernie for the terrain. If we can't swap our house back home for someone's in either of those places we can do a hotel but if we're doing a hotel we want ski-in ski-out, for the convenience of the kids. Any recommendations?

i don't mean to sound picky with all these awesome options but if it don't get my facts straight it will be a shitty trip transporting screaming kids around, in and out of cars or too much moving about. It's going to cost a motza anyway once you factor in tickets, food, ski school blah blah so just making everything else run smoothly.

hi ezmay i just read your post and im wondering if you can give me some feed back as i would like to go to big white chrisy 2012 with my wife and three kids 12,11,and 7. i am in the middle of trying a house swap at big white aswell. we would like to stay for 5 weeks do christmas and most of january.thinking of spending 4 or 5 days at silver star or few day trips to silver star and apex.how did the house swap go, did they look after your home. my wife is a little nervous as our house has just been renovated and her kitchen is her pride and joy.did you manage to ski any were else? any way i would appreciate any feed back,thank you regards foot.
