Best Ski Villages

I live in Ohio and get to travel west once a year to ski. My wife does not ski, but goes along to enjoy the villages and natural beauty of the mountains. We've been to Breckenridge, Park City, Aspen, Whistler and Jackson Hole. I usually try to pick a place where the town has plenty of shops and restaurants and that sort of thing. I think her two favorite places were Whistler Village and Breckenridge. We will be traveling somewhere out of Las Vegas at the end of January looking for snow. How is Lake Tahoe based on what I've described? We can either drive or fly out of Vegas, just looking for mountains, snow and a vibrant town.

Whistler is #1, no questions about it. So many things to do other than skiing. Its a former Olympic village, so it has everything. The nightlife and partying is legendary. There's a deluxe tubing park. Nordic skiing, biathlon, jumping, bobsledding, etc. A huge fitness/swimming/ice skating facility called Meadowpark.
And a couple good museums and Vancouver can be done in one day. And shopping up the ying-yang.

We go every winter break and will be back in 3 weeks!
