Crispyapplepie, the Carre Neige will get you off the hill without fuss (France) if you need medical evac without quibbling. However, if your new Insurance won't cover you for the skiing small print, it's likely you'll get a very British "non" when you call the Halifax, to take over. Make sure you have your EHIC's with you. Avoid alcohol, exclusions are peppered across most policies these days.
Oh dear, that does not sound too promising  I insure with Direct-Travel so does Dave Mac. I've had an injury claim with them, and so has a pal, both went through without too much fussing. Been a customer for several years.

http://www.direct-travel.co.uk/

I'm incredibly careful, incredibly lucky, and I've/we've paid billions of pounds into the EU, so I expect the EHIC to cover any medical expenses while in Europe. If it doesn't and I have to stump up the bill, I can ASSURE you I will get the money back off Heir Cameron and Frau Osborne.

Granted you can get decent cover for about GBP25, but it's also a matter of principle for me.

Yes I dont mean to be morbid but you can be as careful as you like, but what would you do if you killed someone? Id like to think you ski with a triangle stuck to your back to warn others..

haha... I like the triangle idea! I see what you're saying, but really what are the chances of me killing someone?! Yes the chance is always there, but it's highly, highly unlikely, and not worth GBP25, or 4 or 5 pints, in my opinion.

It's like motor insurance. I've forked out thousands of pounds over the 13 years I've been driving, and never had to make a claim... what a waste of money!
