La piste predue

Just been looking at videos on youtube and came across this beauty... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp5Z8ZtPsSU&feature=related

Just wondered if any J2skiers had skied this run before. I went to Val/tignes last yr and can honestly say id never heard of it.

Looks a fun run to ski if a little sketchy in places.. :shock:

Isn't this the one everyone goes on about with the tunnel?

Think a lot of it is black... way out of my league :o(

The Lost Valley. It comes out at La Daille, I skied it in an off-piste lesson a few years ago, however it was very warm and had a lot less snow! Lots of rock hopping. Good fun, it's not difficult, most intermediates would enjoy it.

I've skied piste perdue a few times, really quite good fun! Not at all difficult as long as you keep the speed down.
Trying to work out what the season was in the video, didn't look like there was that much snow, spring maybe?
I've been down it when quite empty of snow like in the video and when absolutely full of snow, when I had to climb up and over some bits.
There is, somewhere, almost a tunnel which fills up and means a bit of uphill to get over it.
No idea if I could find the start now - but it is under the Tommeuse chair and follow the tracks probably.

yes it is, it shows a tunnel on other videos but there is also another way in to the start, as shown on this clip.

The kids call this the mouse hole as you have to climb/crawl or if you are lucky, ski through it. Not really a tunnel, more a long hole in the ground. Last time we did it you had to climb down a rope about 2/3meters.

There are a few places you might need to take your skis off depending on the amount of snow.

Not hard as long as you can control your speed, but really fun. It is not a piste, just a route everyone skis in a deep gulley. Have fun.

looks so cool - anyone know about anything similar like this around Zell am See?? Im off there next week and would love to explore some cool places like that....

Not my cup of tea, I watched till 4 mins 11 sec and thats my lot ....... having to take my skis off half way down, no fun in that.

It is marked on the piste map as Valley Perdue. Above La Daille. Half the fun is finding the start !!
