Seems a little expensive, you should be able to get it cheaper depending on availability. We are paying GBP2200 for 14 nights, family of four half board (Pension Marrianne) including flights & transfers all booked independantly and that's in the middle of Febuary.

 Just read that again GBP747 Inc ski pass & ski hire seems very reasonable. Sounds like a good deal.

Re:Do you think this is a good deal?

It depends when you are going, and where from. A 6 day lift pass is 160 Eu. Ski hire is 48 EU, probably a bit cheaper through your J2 discount. Total 248Eu = GBP208.
Harfenwirt (3*) HB, 8 Jan is GBP338, total GBP546
Sonnschein (4*) HB, 8 Jan is GBP441, total GBP649
I would choose the Harfenwirt, because it is closer to the slope, 30m. I would conclude that for that dates, GBP747 is not a good deal, regardless of the departure airport.

No, thats not a good deal at all. You can get a week in N for GBP149 inc flights, transfers and accommodation B&B. Lift pass is about GBP160, ski hire GBP50 so no I think its a high price.
If N is where you want to go, shop around, thats a shocking price.
We can't get decent deals from N Ireland, the cheapest Harfenwirt price was over GBP500 just for the accommodation, flight and transfer. Tony_H where did you see that GBP149 price?

Those are ridiculous prices. We can get GBP300 for a catered chalet Xmas week at the moment.
I cant remember where I saw it, but Travelzoo was doing Xmas week in Niederau for GBP229 I think last week.
Ask yourself this first - do you want to go to Niederau, or do you want a ski holiday?

Re:Do you think this is a good deal?

It is somewhat difficult from NI. The best Harfenwirt deal from Belfast City I can see, so far is GBP448. Add GBP208, total GBP656. I do not find any attraction in pursueing a Ryanair Dublin/Salzburg flight price of at leat GBP124. You can reduce by GBP59 pp, by staying at the Enzian, ie GBP389, total, GBP597.

Re:Do you think this is a good deal?

Hi SkiGirl, I'm just looking at this for you now. Taking into account the date you've just given, the deal looks to be 'so so' to me.

For the same week the Harfenwirt (which is across the road from lift) is GBP567, so add around GBP210 for lift pass and skis and it comes to GBP777. This is without any discounts on the holiday price that you may get from waiting for the Feb deals to come out. At the moment that's an extra GBP30, in exchange for staying across the road from the slopes, as opposed to a 5 minute walk away.

I'm also not sure what Ingham's mean by 'local lift pass' which is included in that deal. Just had a quick chat with MrEvs about it. I didn't think you could get a pass which excludes the wider (Oberau and Auffach) area, but he thinks he can remember the rep offering us a restricted one the first time we went. If the deal includes a restricted pass then this would be of a lower value than the one I've used for the above comparison.

Re:Do you think this is a good deal?

Hi EmmaEvs

Thanks for looking for me, I've been doing the same for the last hr. We can't really wait and book at couple of weeks before we go because my hubby has to book his leave at least 6 weeks in advance. The cheapest I could get was Pension Enzian using Skiset for skiis but even that's only about GBP60 cheaper than the Sonnschein deal.

We've nearly always booked N through Inghams and it's always been the lift pass that includes Auffach but you have to book this all inclusive hol over the phone so I can check then anyway.

Re:Do you think this is a good deal?

I am paying GBP594 for 7 nights in the 3* Schneeberger HB, price includes return flights, hotel, transfers and lift pass and I thought this was reasonable, the only problem is getting spending money together but will be taking my bank card so should be fine as i can get money out from the cashpoint up the road from the hotel near the Adeg supermarket.

Even though the Harfenwirt is on 30 metres from the slopes, it is only one slope at the far end of the resort and would require a 10/15 minute walk or a few stops on the postbus to get to the main centre of the resort where the machbachjoch gondola is, along with the main 3 nursery slopes.

Re:Do you think this is a good deal?

True but surely it would be better to stay in the centre of the resort, not much going on in the harfenwirt of an evening and most apres-ski is in the middle of the resort, but it would be ok if you don't mind the stroll....

Boo_yay! I stay 180m past the Harf. To catch the first Gondola, I either skate across to the Poma, walk down to the village, 8 minutes, fastish walk, or the ski bus will stop for me. Alternatively, walk 30m to the Tennladen T-bar.
My apres mainly centres round the Harf or the Bichlwirt, but if I wish to catch up in the village, I walk down.
Last season, I pushed a lady in a wheelchair from the Harf to O'Malleys. And back.
What's with the younger generation?
Boo_yay, you need to stretch you legs a bit and at least experience one night of the apres ski in the Sports Cafe ) Went for the deal with Inghams - worked out at 747 each for the Sonnschein, 4* HB and the pass covers Auffach too. Shopped around and just couldn't get anything cheaper. Can't leave it until the last minute so didn't think it was too bad.
