new skis - wax or not?

Hi guys,

Before heading off away with my new skis ive been wondering whether or not i should have them waxed and edged. I might add the skis are brand new and have never been used.

what are peoples thoughts, will they be ok or is it worth having them done?

Also can anyone reccommend a good wax and edging tool so i can do them myself in future.

Thanks

The storage wax is not a good sliding surface for your skis, so yes get them waxed. The edges will be nice and sharp, so won't need doing.

just make sure you establish what the existing edge angle is (with a marker pen) as this won't set a new edge angle, and is really for maintanance only.
