Ski + City break package?

Hi all

2 of us would like to ski for 3 days then end a week's holiday with a city break. For example, we've been looking at flying to Salzburg, hiring a car, skiing nearby (Chamonix etc), then driving to Munich for 2-3 days. It is taking a lot of time looking into the the individual components of such a holiday.

Are there any holiday companies that specialise in Ski + City break packages please?

Any suggestion for where to go for a Ski + City break package?

Thanks
Scott

Thats a bit of a drive Salzburg to Chamonix and then on to Munich, I would suggest a DIYer I think it might work out cheaper and may be a ski resort in the Salzburg area.

Re:Ski + City break package?

Flying to Geneva, ski-ing in Chamonix, and then driving back for a few days in Geneva would be much easier, as it's only about one hour's drive from Geneva to Chamonix. And you could have a look at Annecy on the way, which is really pretty.

In fact, you wouldn't even need a car because there are plenty of buses from Geneva to Chamonix. We spent a day looking round Geneva and there's plenty to do and loads of very good public transport.

And flights from the U.K. to Geneva are very cheap - like GBP70 return with Easyjet if you get them early enough.

Ally

You could do the same kind of thing in Austria ..Salzburg has lots of flights and the ski resorts are near ...Obertuern is 1 hour away on the bus...why hire a car if you are only going to two destinations

thanks all for your replies - not hiring a car would be better and less stressful, albeit more flexibility, but then it sounds like the public transport is well connected.
