Insurance time again.

So i had my renewal letter yesterday on our annual policy.
GBP67 for a family of 3.

Now here is the question.......Off Piste.....Just how 'off piste' do you need to be?

Lets say my policy does not include off piste skiing but i choose to cut a corner on a zig zagging piste because there is a nice steep bit of powder i fancy trying. Then i get hurt.....Is that off piste?

I am still very much a beginner but fear that this year i may be tempted to take a few more risks in the name of advancement.
Should i buy off piste cover even though i really don't think i will being anywhere near 'real' off piste stuff.

:shock: can of worms! My personal conclusion is one which has been nominated by others recently... if you fall and hurt yourself get someone to drag you back on to the piste before calling for help. Seriously. It's easier. I've given Mr EmmaEvs strict instructions. If he fails in his mission he can pay the bill. :thumbup:

There is no such thing as a little bit off piste. If your policy offers you no cover, then it also offers no cover for accidents you cause (for example, that nice little bit of powder you've bagged, releasing and taking out a class on the piste)

Even the little bunny tracks made by ski school kiddies in the woods is proper off piste.

If you see some little munchkins towing someone in a bright pink jacket who's gritting their teeth in pain and muttering expletives about insurance companies that'll be me. Wouldn't surprise me if Mr EmmaEvs recruits helpers :lol:

I'll help you Emma, I've set or helped set, (crunch), over a (scream), hundred (Whaaa, noooo...leave me alone) broken legs and ankles, not to mention a few hearts. :twisted:

Dave, thanks for the offer of crunching my broken agonising limb/s :-o . No offense, but if I see you coming towards me taking your gloves off you'll see me hobbling screaming and rolling back on piste all by myself! A 'Life of Brian' scene is springing to mind...

There you go Emma, you are feeling better already!
Last year, a guy came across to me in the Bichlwirt, and offered his hand. "You set my leg" he proclaimed. I tried to look knowledgable, but was struggling. "On the Katzenberg", he finished.
"Oh, Jim, how's it going?" says I. It was the only leg I set on the Katzenberg, I drew blood getting the Ackier down the Katz, which is off piste, through gorges, fields and woods. It is one that I can remember. Nowadays it is a straight helicopter.
Anyway, he was walking OK.....

Yeah see you're trying to put a positive spin on that DaveMac but I'm not buying it :shock: :wink:

I'm sure some alcohol would help though... if only to drown out the chanting munchkins robbing me blind as I'm half pulled half crawl back to the piste.

God this has turned into a really freaky nightmare horror film plot. :-( Skiing used to be fun... when did it come to this? :cry:

About the time that you realised that 3 year olds could ski better than you and seemed to have no natural predators on the hill :mrgreen:
