I am getting there and meeting Wickers at 1pm. Shall we have an afternoon beer at around 4pm at the Zillertaller stand, or will they be charging GBP250 for a small bottle of beer again?????

I'm going on the Wednesday to meet with Neil English - thanks to a family friend who happens to be good friend with him, who is the ski correspondent for Daily Mail ! Cant wait, just thought id let you all know :D !

I actually won a ticket for the Thursday in the first place without knowing you guys was meeting, that's how i got the chance to meet him as i mentioned it at a family meal to my mum's cousin who happened to be good friends with the man himself; maybe ill still go on the Thursday, but ill watch this space.

Had a quick squint today at the flight costs, but all up, would have been GBP200/GBP300. Thats a weeks skiing!
There are likely to be a few people to catch up with, (apart from the esteemed J2skiers, of course), but there you go.

I will be with Mrs TP and Isobella, my six year old daughter and hopefully carrying some new goggles. :D We will swing by at 1PM at J2Ski stand if that's where you guys will be.

Quite a few of us descended on Admin yesterday, and took advantage of his good nature at the bar, while he left his secret weapons in charge of the J2ski stand )

It was great to say hi to LOTA and Tonypants for the 1st time, together with Snowbandit, Scapula and Tony_H who I first met last year, in the same venue.....at much the same time :D

Unfortunately I missed LOTA, but was lucky enough to meet Tonypants.
Good to see the old faces again, and in particular our own webmeister, Herr Adminiztrazion.
Snowbandit now needs a new name, as she will no longer be skiing on Rossi Bandits, except maybe in icy conditions......

Regards the show, it was very much same old same old. I watched a bit of the fashion show, and the breakdancing and body popping was fantastic. Not so keen on the Westbeach gear they were doing it in.
You heard it here first: this season is all about freestyle colours - bold, bright, matching or non matching - it really doesn't matter.
Gone are the straight Schoffel pants and Red Spyder jackets, unless you are German or Russian, and in come greens, blues and yellows, as well as a lot of white mixed with turquoise for men and plum for women.
I particularly liked turquoise and green mixed, but thats for another day.
Some nice gear on show, although it was interesting how quiet the Trespass stand was.....does anyone actually buy any of their stuff?
Oakley had some good reduced prices on their stand, and SnR had quite a bit in the sales too, including up to 50% off a range of goggles and I managed to pick Mrs H up some white Adidas Yodai goggles for GBP57. Just a new beanie for me and yes - it did have a bobble.
I looked at helmets, and then looked away again. Not for me, thanks.

I could literally have spent thousands on skis and related gear, but I dont have it to spend and had to keep telling myself that. There are one or two real bargains to be had on skis, including some gorgeous Scott Maya ladies skis including binding for GBP265 (I very nearly bought them for Mrs H, but would have been castrated if I had....) as well as last seasons Scott Aztecs for GBP235. Neo's at GBP500 without bindings....hmmmm.

Snowbandit fell in love with some Volkl's and promptly invested in them, I am sure she will be on here at some stage to show you all. Not sure if shes taken them to bed yet though....

Plenty going on, with some good freestyle demo's on the slope. I managed to chat with a lot of people on the stands, in particular representing ski areas I have either been to (such as Serre Che) or places I am considering (such as the Dolomites) and I got the run down on St Moritz from the Club Med girls.

All in all a god day out, made a change from the arse end of a lorry on the M25, and for anyone thinking of going, do it. It gets the juices flowing again.

Admin, what ever made you employ those 2 lovelies on the stand, I really have no idea what the motivation behind it was.......

I had the lowdown on Serre Chevalier from the ClubMed girls!

Also had a fun chat with the Freshtracks girl at the Ski Club stand - and told her off for saying Engelberg train station instead of Engelberg railway station.

Didn't buy anything - don't need anything - apart, perhaps, from a new daysack, but that can wait!

Some good ideas for hols, though, Serre Chevalier, Formigal, Grindelwald or maybe Canada!

Good to meet Signor Admino and Bandido; I think a picture of the J2 stand helpers should be added to this thread forthwith!

I too did not buy anything as I did not bloody well go, I had a fantastic time on the M11 and the back roads of Norfolk. But I'm glad you guys all had a good time :evil:

I enjoyed getting hands on with the new boot liner concept from Skiset. I would have enjoyed spending more time in the company of the guy who handed the liner over 8) though Admin's secret weapons got there 1st and had turned all giggly as a result of taking in the view :mrgreen:

Hi all, it was good to put faces to names yesterday, sorry I missed you LOTA, Mrs P was busy looking for some new goggles as I was and Isobella found the big white bouncy castle type slide extreme fun ( I did go on it myself but on my way up for the fourth time I needed a rest !!!)

This was my first ski/board show and really enjoyed it, loved the wine and cheese giveaways :D saved some money on a pair oakleys for Mrs P but didn't find a fit for me.

I must admit the best bit was the massage by a girl from New Zealand next to the S&R stand, it was fab, must recommend (will cost GBP5-GBP10 though) :D

All in all I gained some great ideas, never considered Dolomites or Spain before. Like Tony, I looked at the helmets for 10 seconds and moved on. Amazingly I bumped into the french ski instructor who taught me to ski many years ago in Montgenevre.

If you are going, do the fashion show, its good.!!

The liner is designed to fit current shell ranges, in particular Salomon's so I'd doubt that you'd find a r/e shell to suit. Consider also, that the liner is tongue opening, and a rear entry boot is er...

*If you want to buy an off the shelf liner, there are already liners that lace up, and can be put on before stepping into a boot shell. I have some, Zipfits. They can be remoulded, but it's usual to ask a bootfitter to get the best results. Most modern boot liners can be moulded with the heat of feet and use.

* All my comments are made from a Holiday Harry perspective as I know doodly squit about anything to do with skiing.

It was great to meet up with a few other j2ers especially Sir Admin and his assistants!!!

I can't say that anything excited me much apart from the ample shopping oppurtunities and that can be a little frustrating as I always want far more than I can afford.

Tony the fashion guru was pleasant company as ever and we were so impressed with his hair do...We're all waiting for a pic of you actually wearing that new hat!

I guess that's it for another year...Hopefully I'll see some of you during the winter in (dare I say it) Morzine.

Was great to see you all Thursday; a fair bit of "retail therapy" going on with snowb4ndit the clear winner so far! We've had quite a few new faces say hello since too, J2Skiers from Texas to Melbourne which has been cool (have a great winter road-trip, guys!).

Sadly J2Ski's "Pink Ladies" won't be with us over the weekend but they did a great job getting us (and themselves!) noticed around the show. We have a whole load of new members signed up although I suspect 20 and 30-something males may be a little over-represented in the group from the last few days... 8)

We'll have Interhome and Total Heliski at the Stand today; if you're passing then do drop by and say hello. Donations of coffee always welcome...

And do time your visit so you can catch some of the Big Air competition time - the demos early on were great but the 6pm competition round yesterday had some truly incredible tricks and stunts being pulled. :shock: Those guys are really quite extraordinary.
