It's time for new boots...

Does anyone have any recommendations re: Snow boots (not ski boots).

I would like boots that keep my feet warm, dry and comfy. They need to have really good grip and look reasonably stylish/not too bulky.

:D

Some of them are niiice. GBP150-GBP160 bucks for those though. I see a Christmas wish coming on :D

Only have personal experience of moon boots so probably shouldn't comment  but for what it's worth they are comfy and don't slip easily. They do fell kinda baggy though, like wearing your Dad's/boyfriend's wellies when you're in a rush. Could be cos I don't tie them up properly though :D

Re:It's time for new boots...

If your going really cold look on Canadian sites as they use boots for -40degrees. They are like very fat wellingtons. In those conditions with normal hiking boots frostbite can happen within half an hour.

Re:It's time for new boots...

Those should be good Snowb4ndit. They'll be quite versatile having laces. For just going to work, shopping etc, you can leave the laces loose, so they slip on and off easily. For more serious walking, you can tighten the laces. It's nice to have slip on shoes at work to make the change over easy, and stop your feet overheating in the warm. Those boots have felt liners which work best when dry. If you spend a lot of time in them, it's sometimes worth having a spare pair of liners. At least pull the liners out at night if you spent a lot of time in them that day. There are lower cost aftermarket liners which work as well as the original.

You'll kick yourself that you didn't buy them in the US, I think think they sell for about half the UK price

Re:It's time for new boots...

These new boots are making me feel very untrendy! I am still wearing the same snowboots I bought from C & A fifteen years ago for about GBP9.99 and have worn on every ski trip and then throw in the washing machine after each trip. To make up for this, I did buy myself a rather snazzy new pair of sallopettes this week however. :)
