Not used it myself (always looked a bit expensive) but a bit of googling turns up a fair number of unhappy customers; also some discussion on snowheads.

Also - Dragon's Den Investors got burned.

The Garmin Foretrex 401 looks like a promising alternative.

That is exactly correct. I got cut off half way through the post....darn phone!

I find that using the GPS on my HTC trains the battery like there is no tomorrow. Also, cold weather makes a battery's life shorter anyway :)
