I'm after pair of girls - all mountain (with a freestyle leaning) skis - 160 - Whats good?

yo - I'm after a pair of good girls all mountain skis - I ski hard, lots of off piste but also enjoy a good mogul run so nothing too fat.

not looking to buy brand new latest versions - happy with 2nd hand or last season ... just something to replace my very old and tired salomon 1080s..

any ideas or recommends of good online or outlets that might have something?

lauraooh Welcome to J2ski :D As you are new here, have you read this thread written by Admin?

http://www.j2ski.com/ski-chat-forum/posts/list/1168.page

1080's were soft when they were new, do you want more noodles?

When you say nothing too fat, how fat is too fat? For example I just sold some 172 Scott Punisher's with a waist of 86 which were great in bumps due to their tight radius.

Ah yes - you are right it is like noodle skiing! - love them but they have taken a bit too much of a punishing - so time for new ones. I know nothing about technicalities but everything about liking the skis I wear.. and also about having a small bank balance! so Punishers you say and recommend - what did they go for? got anything else for sale around the 160/ 165 mark with bindings??

Re:I'm after pair of girls - all mountain (with a freestyle leaning) skis - 160 - Whats good?

Well as you are after womens' skis, there is the Scott Sheela, which is the women's Punisher. It all depends on how much freestyle you want to do, the Punishers were supposed to be good in the park, but got panned for being too heavy. A full twin with choice of 7 binding mounting positions, they were brilliant to ski.
I sold mine for GBP180 c/w Salomon 912 ti bindings. I also sold my Monster 77's in 163, which went for @ GBP120.

Perhaps the Fischer Koa might suit? Still don't know how fat you want to go with these skis?

Did you read Admin's thread BTW, especially the bit about sigs, and business links that don't relate to skiing?

165 Armada ARV (There is a womens version but the mens is more widely available. A soft ski anyway...), Don't get earlier than 07/08, should be able to pick up a pair quite cheaply. www.sport-conrad.com

A mid-fat, real all-mountain ski. The fluid version refers to the bindings - Look PX12 which are set, you can get them as flat skis also.

Just a suggestion.

[info, not adverts, as per the rules, thanks - Admin]

Also thanks for advice on skis .... I like my skis to be light, so punishers possibly not the ones... but will take a look at the others you mention.

Know anyone with anything for sale at the mo> heading to St Anton on Sun so a bit short notice 0 but is about GBP100 to hire for the week!

Get yourself on the Conrad Sport website. I bought my Mrs some K2 Miss Demeanour's for 149 euros with Marker M12 bindings brand new. The skis alone are going to 100 euros now, 159cm.
They're great twinnies, good all mountain on and off piste, and ok for messing about in the park with too if thats your game.

Yep, thats the ones. I have had a few laughs about the graphics with Mrs H. However, she loves the flurescent pink bases. She keeps reminding me she is NOT a park rat, so I just say to her in a squeaky voice "Wo, look at that 180 dude, thats sick man". She thinks I am mental.
