Going to Val Thorens

I have just booked a week's holiday to Val Thoren for 3rd April, staying at Cheval Blanc appartments and am trying to find out some info on opening hours etc.
We have a late flight on Saturday so won't arrive until night.

Has anyone been here and know if there is a supermarket there? Is it reasonably priced and will it be open on the Sunday?
I believe there is one in the accommodation?

Thanks for your help! :-)

Re:Going to Val Thorens

There's a couple of small supermarkets in VT. The Huit a Huit is towards the top of the village down some stairs and the other is in the indoor precinct lower down by the leisure centre. I'd guess the Huit a Huit is open until 8pm :). There's a big choice of places to eat so maybe eat out for the first night?

I'm fairly sure it was the Cheval Blanc i stayed in, in december! The hallways etc were freezing, be prepared! Rooms themselves were fine for what they were(uni ski trip) There's a supermarket just up the road from the cheval blanc and as has been mentioned the one in the precinct. Pretty sure they're open on sunday but can't remember exactly!

We stayed in a self-catering apartment only a few yards from the Huit a huit opposite the sports centre (in the Caron district) and it was open all day every day from 8 to 8 except that it shut at lunch time, which was a bit inconvenient because that was the very time we wanted to get in there and buy our lunch!

I think the Cheval Blanc apartments were quite a bit lower down in the resort.

Ally
