Are Easy Europ Hire pricing on current exchange rates? Do all the other charges balance up?

Re:Geneva car hire query

I've hired through HA half a dozen times, never paid for the winter package and never been charged at GVA (Swiss side). Funnily enough the cars have always had winter tyres and a set of chains in the boot... of course, I've now jinxed my next trip and will doubtless be given something with slicks on...

Re:Geneva car hire query

I'd take the risk. Go for the cheaper one and you may get lucky - the chance of saving GBP60 odd, for me, far outweighs the possibility of having to pay an extra GBP13.

Re:Geneva car hire query

I've asked about this at Geneva and hire firms have non-winter-tyre vehicles at a cheaper rate for people who will be driving locally. So there is a reasonable chance that if you go for non-winter-tyre option that may well be what you get. Which could be very bad news if you take it up into the mountains.
