Maintenance

Bought all the kit for servicing my board at last.

Side Edge File with additional diamond file and oxide stone
Flat Iron
Wax
Plexiglass Scraper
pTex
Hard Bristled Brush
etc

Heading back to get a Base Edge Tool after my successful first attempt with the Side Edge variant.

Toying with buying a workbench also.

Just need to know what the hell to do with it all?

Any handy tips for an evening of self service? Clean suggestions only ;)

I definitely take that approach up if i was to take up DIY ski tuning, simple and effect and for once a bloke that don't talk all the technical jargon !

Re:Maintenance

Tino, The base edge guide is really only used to set the base bevel. For most users, it's enough just to run the diamond file along the base edge a couple of times, after side edge sharpening, to deburr.

The first thing you have to do is establish what bevels are on the board now. To do this, run a permanent marker along the edge. Put the diamond file in the guide, and make a pass, or two. Looking at where the marker ink has been removed, will tell you if you have the right angle set.

Trencher
