Watching the Olympic coverage, I see the BBC have spent our money on Kjus gear for the presenters - top end price range gear at our expense? Why?! :evil:

Exactly. They might just be daft enough to pay to give a brand exposure on programs likely to be watched by millions of people world wide.

What makes anyone think the BBC paid for any of the gear? One would imagine Kjus simply donated all their gear in return for some tv coverage.

I seriously doubt they would too. The jacket the old bird with the short hair was wearing on tonights coverage is terrible.

Sorry Pablo (who definitely is a guy and not a girl as far as I am aware but who really knows!?) I was actually just trying to confirm or agree with what was said.

I will try harder in the future :shock:

Think I'm going to have to hunt out some highlight of the action so far and the interviews to find out what Mr Bell and his co-presenters are wearing but judging by the comments its not big and its not clever.....

It's the ski label of Lasse Kjus, former Norwegian downhiller, Brimster.

If you have to pay for it, cheap is not a word that springs to mind.

Normally, if a product label can be visible to the camera, they cover it with black tape. With the obvious lack of an attempt to hide the logo I'd hazard a guess at a commercial agreement between the BBC and Kjus.

Agreed getjim, Kjus would jump at the chance of brand exposure just for providing them with the gear, like any other company would, they would be stupid not to.

He is a bit of a ledge, I agree. Ed is cooler though, except when he wears that horrible shiny pale blue puffa jacket.

I don't think Ed is as cool as he thinks he is.
However, I was completely tongue tied when I met Graham at the ski show last year.
I've met some very interesting people but have never got myself caught out. Very, very embarrassing :oops:

Story in today's Independent confirming that Kjus had supplied the BBC with approximately GBP10,000 worth of kit for the Olympics programmes' presenters. (I think it looks crap, actually, and grossly over-priced!)

I hope the Kjus jackets are more than showerproof given the amount of drizzle that's fallen on Whistler this week. Someone I know went there a couple of seasons ago in February and it rained the entire time they were there!

I think it always rains in Whistler. They could have supplied the presenters with umbrellas, but Kjus is more fashionable :D
