Need Advice

Going to Italy this Sunday, well maybe.

Booked through a company called Bookable Holidays, the guy who took my booking seemed to have difficulty with names and there was a lot of confusion between use.

Sent a email a couple days later with passport details with correct spellings

Got a Visa bill, so they managed to get money from the credit card company

Got ticket Wednesday and found the initial was wrong, emailed which they ignored, emailed yesterday which they ignored, phoned them today, its going to cost GBP80 to change

Complained to the tour operator who got the bill reduced to GBP30, which under protest agreed to

But to date we have not had contact with the Bookables

Any advice anyone?

Anyone know what would happen if we just turn up at the airport?

Re:Need Advice

I know a guy whose surname is mis-spelled on his passport, and the ticket usually the correct spelling, so does not match: he said he never had a problem. But don't take it from me.

If it is a credit card, not a debit card, the easiest (and probably correct) thing is to take it up first as a dispute with the credit card company.

Re:Need Advice

Hi,

I agree with Innsbrucker about the credit card side of things, as long as you have paid with a credit card ( and only needs to be GBP1 or more )in the event of a no show the credit card is legally obliged to refund the whole amount, after all the checks have been done etc.

(on another note about the GBP1 thing, this works with any financial transaction, whether buying a car ,TV or anything else,as long as at least GBP1 is paid via credit card, if the goods or purchased item are not recieved, fit for purpose etc they have to pay/refund and areliable for the full amount by legal requirement.

Hope it works out for you

jon.
