I thought it was time to start a happy thread. So here are some pictures taken over the weekend in ADH when we were having a ball!

This one always makes me smile as well. It is an outside dunny we saw in Banff last year.

Here is a photo of some parked cars in a town where we stopped to put on snow chains. This was before we started our accent to ADH! It also show's why Grenoble airport had to close that day.

Well, not actually Banff.

We did a day skidoo riding out of Canmore. These were the real things, not the wimpy stuff you get in most resorts, doing up to 80mph plus. We had to go to Canmore to leave the National Park, where these skidoos are not allowed.

The dunny was somewhere on the day out, but I really could not give you an exact location :cry: I had enough problems trying not to fall off.

Someone had started to build an igloo by the dunny too, I think they wanted somewhere to wait while it was closed :twisted:

I wouldn't normally, but the forecast was not good for the day, and these were "proper" skidoos, so I went for it.

I doubt I will do it again though, there is only so much fun to be had on one of those.

During my season in Banff I did it out at Panorama, wouldn't waste my time with it. Your skidoos look far better though :(

Great pics of ADH, its must have made up for all the travel probs.
All I want to make me is happy is to see the Northern Lights next week in Lapland. Did,nt get to see them last year and so badly want to this year. Can any-one do a dance to make them happen, not worried about the snow I know there will be loads.

Geophysical Institute Aurora Forecast

It is the University of Alaska Aurora Forecast page. It will default to the Alaska map, but just switch it to the Europe one from the selections towards the top left of the page (5 small clickable maps).

Additional Forecaster comments: This is the least active period we have ever experienced. We expect activity to increase somewhat as we approach the spring equinox. We will begin long-term forecasts in the middle of January.

Keep on dancing for me. It looks like its not going to happen in the next two weeks. :( Hubby says we wont be going back after this year, he's fed up of the prices of everything in Finland. I shall have to be very persuasive.

I actually loved the ones you have, but they just didn't fit properly, so ended up with Nordica Speedmachine X95's. I will boost the battery in my camera and post a pic. They are quite pretty. :D
